And he said, Come…
The story told in the midst of a raging storm…
The winds were contrary, the waves hitting hard on the boat… the lives of twelve panic – stricken young men hang on the balance. Twelve hearts palpitating…twenty four eyes squinting in the thick darkness for any thing that would sustain their lives through the storm… twenty four ears alert to the music of the waves that had brought their whole lives flashing before them.
A story of a ghost that appeared sending the entire host in the boat to disarray and the poor hearts and minds of the young sailors trembled with fear… a story of love and power and majesty and total awesomeness… a story of obedient waves and cleared skies… a story of FAITH*.
“And Peter was come down out of the ship, he walked on water, to go to Jesus.”
Wow, that’s equivalent to saying, and Kichari Omollo climbed out of the airplane and walked on the mesosphere and breathing pure ozone gases. That’s insane and tantamount to swallowing a few tabs of cyanide::suicidal…  To believe and to defy all laws pertaining to floatation and thus walk on water required some guts, yet Peter, whlist looking to Jesus, walked on water to go to Him, His arm outstretched to him. “And He said, Come.”
What of those moments in your life and mine, when Jesus said Come… well maybe not verbally, but the Bible verse that requires some belief, or the word preached to you the previous Sabbath by the pastor that spoke directly to you… did you get out of the boat in faith? Did you act on His word when He said to you, Get up, your faith has made thee well…or did you doubt the power of His might? Did you doubt that He can give you rest you who are heavy laden?... well…???
“but when he saw the wind boisterous, he was afraid; and beginning to sink, he cried, saying, Lord, save me.”
And just like Peter we give credence to the things around us and yet Jesus Christ in His infinite love and mercy is waiting on us to make the move to him and fix our gaze upon Him. Instead we think of the many people that will judge us, and what they will say… we mind the sharks in the waters and think of the multiple troubles we have yet the master called us to come. That is all we are required to do. I can imagine Peter’s companions telling him from behind him to think of what he is doing. They in the ‘safety’ of the boat called him back and told him to stop being a fool and believing that he will make it through. I can imagine the battle in his mind and the anticipation in his heart. Until he finally gave in and started to sink… and at this point looking back to the boat and hoping his fellows would come and save him. but in a split second he remembered his Lord, his savior and redeemer and he cried out to him, Lord save me!!
“AND immediately Jesus stretched forth his hand and caught him and said unto him, O thou of little faith, wherefore didst thou doubt? And when they came into the ship the winds ceased.”
An amazing story with a happy ending. Friend, whatever storm you may be going through in life, hold on the promises of God that He shall hold you and lead you through. Hold on to the faith that Christ shall uphold you. Never focus on the magnitude of the trouble or the storm you are in, never focus on the negative comments that others may utter, never depend on the arm of flesh to save you for it will fail you. Always remember, “God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.”* Call on him with your broken heart and He will hearken unto you and save you. Cry unto Him to lift you out of the miry pit* and He will gladly do so*.

And just like Peter, when faced with the trials, when friends forsake us, when faced with tribulation and temptation… have faith, don’t doubt, just…     walk on the sea, and keep your eyes on Jesus!

Headscarf in the pink….
Or was it Supposed be the pink headscarf…??
Well….. I have no idea am just trying to carve from this story the wall of my heart… because sometimes in life it’s the little precious moments that always be the well spring of much to come…
To him, a young lad barely into his twenties, her eyes are what stuck him the most when he first beheld her… to truly attest to the fact that beauty lies in the eyes of the beholder. She was mysterious, the corner where she used to have her weekly dose of Mr.Opija had almost gotten used to the sweet scent reminiscent of Swahili beauties, young and unmarried… she was quiet, reserved but maybe there was more that the pink headscarf held back….
Little precious moments like a dying phone… little precious moments like the striking of a chocolate craving JUST at the right time… its these little precious moments that always be the wellspring of greater things to come…
She was so kind as to watch over the young lad’s phone… and share a bar of chocolate that she had maybe saved for an entire month to acquire…  she was interesting…. maybe there was more the pink headscarf had to reveal…. Like a loving heart…
The mystery unfolding, she still held his interest… the headscarf in the pink becoming more and more part of the lad’s life… Her character more than her pretty physique began to make impression… and  the unmistakable bonds of friendship formed… the step to the a thousand mile journey was made… and the made it together… and on that moment they walked down the road into the sunset, unbeknown to them that in the darkest moments of their lives will they be most instrumental in their healing.
I thank God, for letting the paths of two very different people meet… I thank God for I know that in some way you have played a part in my life… an important part. And to you my friend, Nasra Omar Bwana… I shall be forever be indebted… your gift of love is something that I can’t repay but with only a gift that is of equal magnitude, my eternal gratitude to you.
The headscarf in the pink that became part of my life…. THANKS for being my friend.:)

How far from Home?
How far from home? I asked as on
I bent my steps – the watchman spake:
“The long, dark night is almost gone,
The morning soon will break,
Then weep no more, but speed thy flight,
With hope’s bright star thy guiding ray,
Till thou shalt reach the realms of light, in everlasting day.
I asked the warrior on the field,
This was his soul inspiring song:
“with courage, bold, the sword I’ll wield,
The battle is not long.
Then weep no more, but well endure
The conflict, till thy work is done:
For this we know, the prize is sure,
When victory is won.
I asked again: earth, sea and sun
Seemed, with one voice, to make reply;
“Time’s wasting sands are nearly run,
Eternity in nigh.
Then weep no more – with warning tones,
Portentous signs are thickening round,
The whole creation, waiting, groans,
To hear the trumpet sound.”
Not far from home! O blessed thought!
The traveler’s lonely heart to cheer;
Which oft a healing balm has brought,
And dried a mourner’s tear.
Then weep no more, since we shall meet
Where weary footsteps never roam –
Our trials past, our joys complete,
Safe in our father’s home.

Lamentations...

And thou hast removed my soul far off from peace:

I forgat prosperity.
And I said, My strength and my hope is perished from the LORD:
remembering mine affliction and my misery, the wormwood and the gall.
My soul hath them still in remembrance, and is humbled in me.
This I recall to my mind,

therefore have I hope.

It is of the LORD's mercies that we are not consumed,

because his compassions fail not.
They are new every morning:

great is thy faithfulness.

The LORD is my portion, saith my soul;

therefore will I hope in him.
The LORD is good unto them that wait for him,

to the soul that seeketh him.
It is good that a man should both hope and quietly wait for the salvation of the LORD.

It is good for a man that he bear the yoke in his youth.
He sitteth alone and keepeth silence,

because he hath borne it upon him.

He putteth his mouth in the dust;

if so be there may be hope.
He giveth his cheek to him that smiteth him:

he is filled full with reproach.
For the Lord will not cast off for ever:
but though he cause grief, yet will he have compassion

according to the multitude of his mercies.

the EXIT speech... LOVING ONE ANOTHER

This is the eact exerpt from the speech by Fred Allan Kichari, who was then the Chairman of the Lenana School SDA group, and was leaving office for his successor. it is a short but a heartfelt speech from a man moved by the need for there to be bonds of love in the church he was leaving behind. this are his words.

September 12th 2008 20:00HRS

As i near the end of this long and sometimes tracherous walk with you as Chairman of the most respected, beloved special group of the Lenana School Seventh Day Adventist group... i just want to intimate to you that it has not been an easy journey, it has been many a times ridden with challenges and fears, impossibilities and rough rugged terrain, but in all this, one force remained constant, and that is the providence of the almighty God. i cannot take it For granted that he has led us through all the way.

You guys have been an inspiration to me, and most of what i have become has bee molded by most of your hands, just like the potter moulds and fashions his clay, but sadly, to my attention was brought this disturbing fact, one that would put to shame any group claiming to belong to God, and that is our love for one another seems absent. brothers, loving one another means being out there for your brother. you don't just sit there and watch your brother that you are in the same banner of faith with, going down and under with the wrong decisions. loving one another means sharing the word that has been preached to you, sharing the word the Good LORD has put in your mouth.... we need to exhibit the love to one another, loving with the love that keepeth no record of wrong...t he love that abideth in truth....the love of Jesus Christ.

bretheren, Be devoted  to one another  in brotherly love Honor one another above yourselves
Never be lacking in zeal Keep  your spiritual fervor.Keep your spiritual  fervor
Serving the Lord.Love  one another. Serve one another. Pray for each other Encourage one another. And build each other up.

As i leave, i desire that you people have the zeal to sing and to have fellowship with one another. singning elevates ones heart in preparation to have an encounter with God and to have a feel of true worship. fellowship encourages us to open up our hearts and to let go of the troubles of this world.... i desire to see agroup that respects the sanctuary... i desire to see the choir grow and testify to a dying world the love of a risen savior... to take to the ends of the world the three angels message with zeal and power..... brothers, i desire to see us all in heaven... but it all boils down to the individual... you and i, what decision have you made?? judgment is soon closing.... where is your stand? will you stand amid the perishing world, or will you stand safe with God, calling out your bretheren from Babylon...?? make the choice.

i leave you in peace.... may the Good LORD be your guide and your stay... till we meet again, if not here on earth, in the heavenly courts... is my prayer in Christs name. amen.

A passionate Plea

Ecclesiastes 7: Better is the end of a thing than the beginning thereof: and the patient in spirit is better than the proud in spirit.
10 Say not thou, What is the cause that the former days were better than these? for thou dost not inquire wisely concerning this.

From the inspired words of the preacher who doubles up as the wisest man that ever lived... this is the same voice that speaks to us today.... to let go of the past, and let God lead... to unwind ourselves from the chains that bind us to untold torture of the past. into life eternal. it is NOT WISE to hold on to the past.

walking down the road of my life, and looking back at how far God has brought me, all i can say is that all things work together for good to they that love the LORD (Romans 8:28)... and through it all, only one song resounds in my heart.. all the way my savior leads me, what have i to ask beside... Christ was there when i was treading a path full of thorns and dangers, but He led me all the way..... He was there when i took a stumble and fell, and He lifted me out of the dirt, and made me whole again... and when i was running to and fro to get help from all other sources(magazines, friends, internet) BUT Him... He still told me to come to Him Just as i was... with much love He healed me from sin, and now i am ever whit made whole. This my song through endless ages, Jesus led me all the way....

Friends, Christ calls you today.. back to Him. to love him back, the same way that He loved you and gave up His life for you! as in He died for you!! greater love hath no man than this!! so stop crowding Him out by trusting that voice in your mind, that you are not good enuf to come to Christ. that is the voice of the devil trying to take you as far from God as possible.. as one writer puts it," those that wait till they feel good enough to come to Christ, will never come'  we are reminded that Christ came to Seek and to save the lost (Matthew 18:11). so if you are reading this.. dont feel ashamed to earnestly pray to God, that He guides you back to Him.... FRIENDS, we are living in the very last moments before the judgment books are closed and your fate sealed, then Christ shall come to reward those who are loyal to HIM... THE WORLD IS ENDING! DUNIA YAISHA! PINY OSERUMO!

So as i said before, its a passionate plea, the past is gone... forget it... whatever you did wrong... its all gone... START a new life in Christ. Be converted By Him and In Him. pray and read the Bible and Keep His Commandments and give God the glory... thats all He requires of you and me...:)
